Topic 1

Why do we getting frequent pain and what are the common reasons behind our pains? What common mistakes we do??

I see several patients in a day with a complaints of pain and observed that now a days every second person is suffering from lots of pains like neck pain, back pain, knee pain etc. either basically due to their sedentary lifestyle or nature of work, they develops these pains. Now here is the question – Why everyone is getting so much pains in the body?? whether they are diagnosed properly?? Or they are dealing with their pain in a correct way??. There is one more surprising part, generally the common age range of the patients are from 20yrs – 45 yrs. Don’t you guys think, it is too young to be into pain. I can understand if there is an old patient coming up with the pain because its a human body, obviously cant be healthy all through out of your life. Some intelligent person says that   “There is no gain without pain” right?. But here my motive is not to give you any “Gyaan” sort of thing, I just wanted to clear your thoughts or misperceptions about your body and pain.

Have you ever think your one relaxation posture can lead to a pain. For example, maximum of us while watching tv we don’t sit with erect spine or we lying down with pillow underneath our neck with 45* bend because we feels it relaxing but in the long run same posture becomes habit and leads to cervical pain and lower back pain. Simple reason is, your natural posture is changed over the period of time and your changed spine curvature is giving you pain.

Second most common reason behind your pain is non exposure of sunlight and bad food habits. Now a days our working environment is like that we don’t see sunlight many many days because we usually work in air conditioned office, we don’t eat nutritious diet , body adapt to this environment and this non exposure to sunlight and lack of nutrients leads to deficiency of vitamin D, K & B12 in our body which makes our bones & nerves weak. When ever we have a pain generally doctors don’t rule out these deficiencies and thinks it is a normal musculoskeletal pain. Maximum of the cases I found deficiencies due to which they will feel 3x times of pain then the actual pain. So, after the age of 25 yrs. you should do health check up of these deficiencies at least once a year and take the doses as per your doctor advice.

Third most common reason behind our pain are lack of physical activity. I would suggest at least do 30mins. of walking, Jogging, Cycling, Yoga, Swimming etc. preferably in the morning. Half an hour of these exercises will help you in correcting your posture and also keeps you healthy. Play your favourite outdoor sport at least once in a day. I appeal to the young parents encourage your children to play outdoor sports rather them allowing play computer/mobile games all the times.

Fourth most common reason of our pain is keeping purse in the back pocket and lifting heavy laptop bags on our shoulders. Many of us did not observe that keeping purse in the back pocket leads to radiating pain in the same leg over the period of time, this happens because of continuously pressing of muscle and nerve at one point which becomes sore and the circulation becomes less that leads to pain and stiffness. You know guys you are compressing the main nerve called sciatic nerve, I am sure maximum of you have heard about the problem called “sciatica”. Now here is the catch, maximum of the doctors confused this condition with sciatica but actually its a bio mechanical dysfunction in the body which happens due to ur purse and your pelvic girdle tilts.and develops the abnormal posture which creates pain in the back and in the leg. Body has a tendency to adjust itself with the condition. If it happens please consult to your physiotherapist immediately.

Same way it happens with your shoulders, heavy bags forces your spine to bend forward and exactly at the trapezius muscles soreness starts developing due to the heavy weight of your bag. That leads to cervical pain, Radiating pain in the shoulders and hand.
